Deep cleaning is a hard thing to do. There are many many places and ways to clean, you don’t know where to start and on top of that during these hard times you can’t even hire a cleaning service to help you out. No worries! This blog contains specific tips so you know what to do.

#1 Cleaning walls and ceilings

Most of the time we don’t always know where to start cleaning in our house. Usually vacuuming/washing floors and dusting surfaces are the most popular first tasks. We forget to think about horizontal surfaces or the ceiling. Does that sound familiar? Although dust mostly falls on flat surfaces like the floor, walls can get dirty overtime and develop new scuff marks. And of course by cleaning ceilings we mean cleaning fans, lamps, chandeliers, etc. Also dust/clean air vents and get rid of any spiderwebs using a feather duster. There are many cleaning solutions out there and even homemade recipes but we recommend you to be cautious with those. If you have cup-shaped lamps, clean them both inside and out. On walls you should clean/dust paintings, windows, windowsills, and of course, our favorites are baseboards. Try adding this procedure to your cleaning to-do list.

#2 Asking for help when moving furniture

In each home there is always a place that cleaning services can’t reach or clean. Even we, when cleaning, can’t always lift/move heavier objects such as refrigerators, washing machines, and big couches. cleaning ladies  don’t move your refrigerator and some companies have no furniture moving policies. Luckily most husbands and men of the house are currently home because of quarantine. You could ask them to move something heavy for you to vacuum or wash the area. And don’t even sweat it when quarantine ends! There are special pads for you to put under furniture (whether on carpet or floors) so that your furniture won’t scrape your precious floors. Is your husband helping you yet?

#3 Cleaning the tops of cabinets/drawers

We can all agree that we clean our kitchen cabinets. But what about the tops of our cabinets? It is a commonly missed or ignored step of deep cleaning and even though most grease and dust ends up on stovetops, cabinets, counter tops, etc, that doesn’t mean that surfaces we don’t see, don’t get dirty. Aside from just dusting cabinets, you can wipe them down with kleenexes or damp paper towels thoroughly to get all of the grease out. If by any chance you won’t be able to clean them as often or are leaving the house, try putting a layer of wax paper on your cabinets. And again, if you can’t reach your cabinets, don’t forget that everyone is home because of quarantine, Ask for help.

#4 Cleaning Refrigerators

Cleaning refrigerators isn’t always the easiest task. Moving all of the food, actually wiping it down, you name it! But it serves multiple purposes like a clean refrigerator, checking what food is about to go sour, and organizing your fridge. You can even clean your refrigerator right after a trip to the grocery store when it’s mostly empty. Cleaning your refrigerator saves you money because you see overripe food and can eat it before it spoils. Also make sure to wipe it down thoroughly to not leave any stains behind. Next time when cleaning, don’t forget about your refrigerator.
